Ika Kilo, my rendition of an oversized penis made from textile hair extensions adorned by Indian women at weddings. This artwork not only illuminates their female sexuality and desires, but reveals through a private pre-wedding gathering of women their united ability to perform through song and dance the power of their femininity, normally made invisible in a patriarchal society that seeks to restrict and limit their sexuality.
