Kenyan Cowboys and Indians
The term 'Kenyan cowboys' is African slang for white colonialists. Here Rana-Allen integrates imperialist colonial imagery with images of her great grandfather and peers who were among the first Indians to arrive in Kenya. In 1914 they were sold by the East India company to the East Africa company to build the railways in Uganda and Kenya.
