Originally made by Rana-Allen as a younger woman in early motherhood, depicting her young children’s faces, Wandering Womb is revisited here as a menopausal woman. It refers to the belief in the ancient world that a woman’s womb ‘wandered’ around the body resulting in weakness, irrationality and powerlessness, or overt sexuality.
